A: Whether you want to have homemade cookies on hand whenever a craving strikes or just can’t finish that loaf of bread, freezing baked goods is a great way to make sure nothing goes to waste! Most baked goods, including cookies, cakes, muffins, dinner rolls and bread, can be frozen for up to 2-3 months if stored properly. If you’re freezing homemade baked goods, be sure to let them fully cool before you put them in the freezer. To freeze baked goods, tightly wrap them in plastic wrap. You can wrap them twice to make sure there is an extra layer of protection. If you’re freezing bread, you can wrap the entire loaf or wrap each slice individually. We suggest wrapping each slice separately so that is easier to thaw. Once the baked goods are wrapped in plastic wrap, label with a date and name of the item so that there is no confusion later. Then place the wrapped goods in a freezer safe container or plastic bag. Your frozen baked goods can be thawed and enjoyed.
